Wash day with perm rods

This wash day was meant to test out my latest hair tool, perm rods.
Instead of light protein prepoo, I decided to focus on boosting the moisture level in the hair. In as much as I love the effect of the light protein prepoo, I don't want to overdo things. I also started the wash in the night by prepooing overnight.
[1] Pre shampoo: applied makola virgin coconut oil to the hair, covered with deep conditioning cap and went to bed.

[2] Herbal rinse: I used brewed coffee+black tea +rosemary leaves and left it on for about 5 minutes.

[3] Shampoo: I used the ORS invigorating shampoo once. I towel dried the hair for about 5 minutes.

[4] Deep condition: I used keracare humecto and left it on for about 2 hours.
[5] After rinsing the kearcare humecto, I towel dried again for a while before applying beautiful textures tangle tamer leave in. I'd wanted to go to my stylist for the perm rod set but she wasn't available. Well, I picked a small tooth comb, spray bottle with water and sat in front of my mirror. By the time I reached the third perm rod set, my arms ached as if to say they hated what I was using them to do. I didn't give up though (not that I wanted to anyway) and after about an hour later, I was done.
[6] Drying and Styling: I air dried the hair till evening time before taking them down. I could have gone to bed with it to ensure it fully dried but I refused to do so. Not that the rods were uncomfortable; I slept in them during the day. I, simply, wanted to have a care free sleep. Whatever that means with a baby lying by my side lol.

[7] Applied ORS vital oils after taking the rods down.

  2. WOW! The perm rods really stretched out your hair! I love it. Don't fret about your installation time, mine is TOTALLY longer. Did you use end papers?

I realise it came off when the thread didn't go down the hair and stayed at the top. I made sure to pass the thread downwards to hold the rod. I don't know if that makes sense. I'll try and take pictures with the next use to demonstrate.
