Starting A New Healthy Hair Journey For 2018

As 2017 comes to a close, I've been reordering and reorganizing my goals, priorities and most importantly, my desired outcomes.

Growing hair isn't a day thing neither is it a race. However, I also don't want to relax and suffer a setback. Creating the balance between the goal and achievement needs a simple but effective planning. What I mean is if I set a goal, I need to know when and how I'll achieve it. Merely stating the goal doesn't yield the result.

If you've been following this blog for a while, you'd know that I don't wait till new year to set goals and targets. This is the best time to evaluate what the current year has been and what the future holds.

2017 was a fun year for me! I learnt so much about my skin and honestly, my hair took a back seat. I hardly purchased products as I got about 7 hair cuts! Talk about not having products, I intended keeping a tapered cut but Mr. Sweetheart wants to play in long hair again hence I decided to resurrect the dead journey. This is why I say 2018 is a new hair year.

The greatest achievement in 2017 had to be not purchasing a lot of products although I got to try several hair vitamins for the sake of readers and friends. At the beginning of the year, I'd planned to reaching APL but the fun of enjoying short hair got the better part of me.

Would I cut again? I'm not sure a cut will augur well with Mr. Sweetheart and even my dad who's so anti short hair Lol. I most definitely wouldn't say their desires influence me in anyway. I'm a free spirit but love goes beyond your needs and wants. So long as you well being isn't compromised, there's nothing wrong with putting your better half's request first. In addition, I'll be turning 33 which is way beyond youthful exuberance! I mean I've had enough fun. 6 years of cutting has probably made some readers sad but such is my life. I don't on what I want whenever I want.

We have less than 100 days to end the year and these are the things I want to achieve by June 2018 and then December 2018.

October 2017 goal
*Take the beautifully bamboo vitamins daily alongside the gummies. The gummies don't provide enough nutrients hence the combination. The biotin in both will add up to 7500mcg which is still OK for me.
I'll finish the second bottle by December 15th and from that time, I'll know which one to take.

*Apply hair growth oils religiously as well as moisturizing as often as possible. The boot camp will certainly force me to stick to a stable regimen.

November Goals
Use up two conditioners I've had since the beginning of the year. It's not healthy to use expired hair products hence I don't want to get to that point. I have a shampoo to also use up from now till November 30th.

December
That will be the most of decision. To braid or not to braid. The hairline isn't as bad as it used to be but it's not at the point I can comfortably braid and not expect some damage. However, a wig isn't a bad option but I prefer a style I can get up and go...
I'll keep you updated on that.

January to February
If I get the braids, then, they will come off at the end of February per the boot camp rules. During that time, I intend taking advantage of sales to stock up on products for 2018.

March
That's the touch up month. I'll touch up in December, March, July and October. By March, it should be easy to wear my hair in a cute style hence stretching won't be tedious. All depends on the growth though.
I'll get a trim after the touch up to prevent split ends.

April
By this time, I should have used up all 2017 hair products to make way for new ones so as not to end up damaging my hair with expired products. Currently, my hair seems to be drinking up so much moisturizers Lol. We have another braid break somewhere in July hence I'll get to also focus on new products for 2018. I definitely won't purchase everything in December as in have a limited budget and mid year sales are equally advantageous.

From May to June
Use the new products I got in December and of course, do reviews. I'll also get a trim at this time.

July to August, September are braid months hence I'll get another braid done.
All through this period, I'll be taking at least 2 litres of water daily. In addition, I may be on multivitamins too so I expect a lot of growth in 2018.

October
That's the last month of boot camp and that's the month I'll touch up again. By this time, I'll get a trim too. I plan on 3 trims in 2018.
From November, we'll have another boot camp so that will determine my routine too. However, I will continue with the routines as the boot camp gears up!

That's the plan to achieve one goal- Full Shoulder Length by December 2018 God willing. If I can get beyond that, praise be to God Almighty who provides us with all our needs more than we can imagine!
