How I Manage My Hair Products
After discovering the numerous hair care videos and blogs, I took a step to ensure that
regardless of my economic status, I’d do all I could to make the hair better
than it was. However, upon purchasing my first leave in, I saw that it would be
prudent to have a plan to cater for all my products needs whilst avoiding
increasing my expenditure. I developed a time schedule for each product; when
to buy a product, when to use it, how to use it and how long I would use it.

Expenditure
Before I purchase anything new, I weigh its necessity and
relevance.eg do I need it or its just something I desire/want? If after
pondering over this I decide it’s a need, I create a budget for it. On the
other hand, if it’s just something I merely desire/want, I place it on a wish
list. To me, writing down my wishes is a step to obtaining them; even if it
takes years. For a needed product, I pray to God to make a way. I tell him why
I need it. Funny right? That’s my faith!
My Purchases
I don’t make purchases right after creating a budget; I
scout for the price and possible alternatives. Eg I had been using MVP leave in
which had protein and since I’d chosen to cut down on protein products, I
targeted a moisture based; Luster’s S-Curl was selected after searching through
forums. When I wanted to buy the s-curl, which is a leave-in and moisturizer
too, I sought for an alternative too and got to know that Hawaiian Silky
14-in-1 was equally beneficial. I do this so that if I can’t afford the former,
the latter would come in.
Also, I tend to buy products that are multi purpose eg Dark
and lovely cholesterol can be used for co-wash and as a deep conditioner. I
used my oil mix as a sealant and for pre shampoo and I use S—curl, which is
both a leave-in and moisturizer. This saves money and time.
Using the product
Most of ladies on a hair care journey try to remain
minimalists as regards products. For me, a little goes a long way so I don’t go
chasing products regularly. Additionally, because my purchases are planned, I
make sure the products serve me for a long time before running out.
To avoid stress and worries over hair products, these basic
tips have guided me in this journey and am still looking for better avenues to
make the journey more easier.
