How I Finally Cleared My Acne

For the most part, I had a clear skin until a few years ago when I introduced hair skin and nails vitamins in the form of biotin.

After gaining so much knowledge about skin care, I decided to eliminate any thing that could cause a set back for me.

The first step was finding the skin care products that were suitable for me and with trial and error, I've been able to do just that. My skin loves light products compared to thick ones so I pay attention to texture a lot.
I use jojoba oil and other light moisturizers to allow my skin to breathe too.

When it comes to cleansing, less is more. I don't use a cleanser daily anymore for the reason that the toners I have do a good job of cleaning the face. I use 2 toners, one to clean and one to pat in after cleansing.

At night, I do my best to have barely anything on except one serum. I've never fancied layering serums and I believe that has allowed my skin to adjust to faster. It has allowed the skin to have the best benefits from each serum.

Another major difference is taking Probiotics. I've been taking fresh yogurt daily and immediately I introduced that into my system, I could tell my skin was getting less bumps and breakouts. Balancing the bacteria in our gut is essential in maintaining a healthy skin. Less bacteria, less infections.

Lastly, using lactic acid to exfoliate the skin has also drastically changed the way my skin absorbs products as well as staying healthy. I do have some physical scrubs but chemical exfoliating has been a game changer for me!

Alright, now to the biotin situation. I've already accepted that my skin doesn't and won't tolerate biotin again hence I've shifted to collagen! That has also saved me the stress of keeping the sebum under control to prevent clogged pores.

Overall, I'm enjoying my face these days and can't wait to dabble in more serums.

My current serum line up:
Vitamin C serum, Niacinamide, lactic acid and hyaluronic acid.

I do have glycolic toning solution to test, salicylic acid, BHA/AHA peeling solution, a few serums from Cosrx , Hada Labo, Pyunkang and more so stay tuned.

  1. I have been thinking of adding probiotics and collagen to my daily intake as well. Thank you for sharing more about them both in your skin care regimen!
