The Minimalist Skin Care Routine

Skin care can get overwhelming sometimes you need to take a break and rethink your routines.  From the beginning of this year, I tried to go beyond the usual simple routine to a bit more complicated steps. I added three toners and two face moisturizers to the morning steps.  Whilst I enjoyed experimenting, I'm just not cut out for the multiple steps per routine. At the end of February, I decided to allow the skin to reset so I could try another routine.   For the past few weeks, I've essentially been doing the just: Wash, face cream and sunscreen. I tried adding a couple of serums but decided to just stick to the most basic for a bit longer. I've reintroduced tretinion for night and that's going to be the stable way to for for the rest of the year. It's the morning serums that will get replaced with azelaic acid in the course of the year. Anua dark spot correcting serum and advanced clinicals vitamin c serum are my go to for the morning along with The Ordinary niaci...

3 Ways To Use Heat Protectants

Heat protectant or heat serums  are known to help protect your hair against heat damage from blow driers and flat irons or straighteners. First, you can apply before roller set. It's a way of protecting your ends from the direct impact of the air from the hooded dryer. You can also use to seal your strands especially in sunny weather to protect and prevent moisture loss. Protecting your hair from sun damage ensures length retention and moisture retention as well. Lastyl, Use to prevent your hair against hot tools like flat irons and blow dryers that can cause severe dryness and Breakage as a result of direct impact of the heat from the tools.

Do Hair Polishers Really Work?

What’s the purpose of hair polishes when you have hair oil?  A hair polish can do the following:   Shine: We all love shiny hair after washing and a hair polisher adds to that.  Frizz Control: Frizzy hair can be hard to control and using a hair polish is one of the ways to curb it.  Smooth Hair: Once you are able to take the frizz, your hair will definitely be smoother and manageable! Boosts hydration: Due to the thickness, hair polish can be a good sealant after moisturizer. Hair Conditioning: If your hair stays moisturized, your are definitely going to experience less dryness. Heat Barrier: Some hair polish can also serve as heat serums. However, I prefer actual heat serums because they will contain light weight oils. Styling Aid: to keep the glossy finish all the day long! Looking at the benefits, what happens when you want to seal with hair oil?

How To Use Anua Niacinamide Serum

Anua skin care brand has been trending for a while now for their  dark spot correcting serum which contains Niacinamide 10%+TXA 4% and whilst a lot of people want to try it, here a few things to watch out for when using it. **The Anua dark spot correcting  serum contains 10% Niacinamide which is as comparable to The Ordinary niacinamide 10% and Beauty Formulas Niacinamide 10%. For such a high strength, it’s advisable too start off slowly to avoid irritation if you haven’t used that dose before. If you had irritation from the other serums, you are likely to experience the same with the Anua. ** The 4% Tranexemic acid is similar to The Inkey List 2% Tranexemic acid serum. The goal of this ingredient is to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation.   It interferes with melanin production hence aiding in clearing your dark spots and blemishes.  How to use it:  1. No Lye Relaxer Plus Colour

I got a question about the 3 in 1 relaxer Plus dye. This type of relaxer is quite common here. First, I've not used it before but I may try it for review purposes and will definitely share my thoughts when I do. Until then, let's look at a few things. This is a no lye relaxer which means it's gentle on the scalp. However, it can leave calcium deposits so you need to chelate after using it. Furthermore, it's meant to refresh your color. It comes in a wide variety of colors and you get to choose what you like which may be good for those who wish to switch up without using permanent dyes. The dye deposit will not be permanent. This is a temporal dye hence once you wash your hair, expect the dye to also wash out.  Personally, the reason I haven't been hyped to use this type of relaxer is the fear of breakage. With my history of hair dyes, I'm quite careful about them.  Have you used this relaxer? Can you send us your views on it? Did you hair become dry or did it br...
