Just A Week Of Healthy Origins Biotin

Image
The biotin I'm currently taking is the healthy origins biotin which sells for 35gh. Unfortunately ,  it's out of stock for now.

It's been a week and for the first time in months,  my nails are growing in quickly again. After not using hair supplements for almost two months, it's become obvious that these supplements are the reason my hair has been growing fast .

I haven't had to trim my nails in these past few months but now,  they are getting longer. I'm going to monitor the progress and see how long it gets by the time the bottle is emptied. There are 60 vcaps in there so. That's like up to end of November or early December.

I take one capsules daily, 5000mcg. I also take 2 Litres if water daily. This means I won't be getting nasty pimples.

Here is a shot of the left hand. I usually keep the right one short.

Protective Challenge Mini Update

Image
I've been wearing my hair in a small bun through the month in addition to applying wild growth oil and sulphur oil on the scalp. Added to that is the healthy origins biotin.

My hair is lustrous and smooth after flat ironing it.

I take down the pony at night and apply a tiny amount of coconut oil to the ends especially and massage Sulphur oil on the scalp every other day.

Looking forward to another length check in November.

Coffee Rinse Wash Day (2 Weeks Post Relaxer)

Image
One of the challenges we have in the boot camp is coffee rinse and this week again,  I brewed Nescafe coffee to use as a rinse before deep conditioning.  I avoid using water based products during the week to prevent shrinkage which inhibits styling.
Here's how the wash went.

I prepooed for about 4 hours with aloe oil mix and decided to use the renpure cleansing conditioner instead of  shampoo.

Then, I did the coffee rinse and deep conditioned with aphogee Balancing Moisturizer (in a few weeks time,  I'll have mine hair steaming cap). I left it on for approximately 2 hours before rinsing it out. I air-dried and  applied kinky curly knot today leave in conditioner and a bit of Cantu sheabutter lotion.

That's air-dried with no product. I wish I were shoulder length already LOL.

Healthy Origins Biotin

Image
Hi family! How's your hair journey this month? We've done half of October  and can you believe my hair is constantly in a ponytail or with the ends tucked away?

I love that the hair is full neck length with healthy ends too. The first trim will be in a few months time just to prevent setbacks.

Anyway, after two months of no hair supplement,  I've added the biotin to the women's vitamins. I couldn't bear the thought of ending the year without touching shoulder length. As vain as it may sound,  hair vitamins have been one of the support systems that have brought me this far. The benefits have been immense and if there's no health reasons to stop taking them,  I'm all for it.

I fell in love with this particular biotin as soon as I opened the bottle. First, aside the tight unbroken seal,  there was cotton to absorb moisture. This biotin is odorless and very tiny which makes swallowing smooth sailing. I'll check for growth and thickness in two weeks time. I…

How to Wash Hair After A Week Relaxer

Image
As this post centers on post relaxer hair care, I thought it might be more beneficial for new readers to know a few tips on how to wash hair after relaxing it.

The basic regimen still applies except that for me,  I clarify or chelate post relaxer to guarantee that there aren't any relaxer left overs as well as strengthen the hair again.

**Prepooed for about 2 hours  with aloe vera and oil mix (the same one I mixed up weeks ago!)

**I clarified with Sheamoisture African black soap shampoo, did a coffee rinse and deep conditioned with aphogee 2 minutes reconstructor, and then the aphogee Balancing Moisturizer for moisture protein balance.

I deep conditioned with the balancing moisturizer for about an hour.

I went the extra mile to blow dry and flat iron with my new straightener from kikuu but an insect fell into my left eye in the process so I boycotted it!

Relaxer Update (October 2016)"

I relaxed the hair a couple of days ago.

Here are all the details pertaining to this October relaxer.

The stylist based the scalp and edges with Vaseline. The application took a NJ it 3 minutes and smoothing with a Comb, another 5 minutes. I sat down for about 10 minutes because this ABC relaxer tends to give me texlaxed results - which I would mind a year from now.

She shampooed,  deep conditioned with hooded dryer and did the usual leave and roller set routine.

Get the results and length check in the video.

Check in #1 Erica

Image
This is Erica's hair update for the first week of October.

On Monday I did same in the morning except the shampoo. Then Empress checked in adding she applied hers at night. So I thought, why not give the night a try.

So on Wednesday, I only moisturised my hair and worked on my edges in the morning. Before sleep that day, I applied the sulphur oil, massaged my hair and slept in satin bonnet.

The feeling was great in the morning so I repeated same that night. But hey, I always applied wenatural stimulating oil on my edges. Water consumption was another thing to handle but I pulled through because I do most often.

Don't Dilute Your Jamaican Black Castor Oil

At least not too much with other oils.

A major complaint with using Jamaican Black Castor Oil is the thickness of the oil. The oil is so thick that some people mix or dilute with other oils to thin the castor oil out before use. Others also find their  scalp too itchy when the Jamaican Black Castor Oil is used directly on the Scalp.

Well,  every product is made to operate at its optimum best thus when you dilute it,  you tend to reduce the potency.

After making this discovery,  it's better to rethink about how to get the most out of the Jamaican Black Castor Oil.

Benefits of Overnight Hair Growth Treatment

Image
24 hours after the egg treatment, I put the hair into flexi rods.

I really loved how easy it fitted into my hair and I can't wait to have full curls.

Here's where I noticed some interesting changes in my hair.

Strengthened hair : my hair wasn't as hard as I feared yet it wasn't also super soft. This kind of treatment can definitely benefit the hair prior to relaxer so that's what I'm going to do.
Thicker hair is also another change I saw. Prior to the egg treatment, my hair felt quite light thus the treatment came at the  right time.
Smoother and shiny hair is a plus with this treatment too.

In all,  I guess the overnight hair growth bandwagon has reopened my heart to using eggs. I'll do another treatment before the end of October or prior to relaxing.

Sulphur Oil For Hair Growth

Here's an update about my hair length and check in for October.

To create the sulphur mix,  I used 8oz of a variety of hair oils and added one teaspoon full of the Sulphur.

Get all the details in the video.

October Hair Goals

This is first month in this year that I've chosen to set goals. Reaching new heights require new direction, game plans and executing tactics so I'm back to setting goals.

Goal 1

Be diligent with Sulphur mix. That's not going to be an option since it's the challenge we have in the Hair Growth group.

Goal 2

Be proactive in using the wild growth oil too on the edges. The year ends soon and there has to be some sort of postive results.

Goal 3

Deep condition each week of the month. The harmattan will get severe towards November thus protecting the hair now is essential.

These are the three points of focus for October. There may be other ones but these take precedence.

Goal 4

Stick to protective styling with my own hair. I think this will go well because I'm able to create roll and tuck styles now.

Wash Day @5 Weeks Post Relaxer

Image
First, let me complain about how the hair has not grown so much this time because I'm not taking my supplements.

Usually by  4 weeks, it will be uncontrollably thick as a result of the new growth but this time,  it feels as if I just relaxed it. It feels like the it has grown just 1/4 too. Lol.

We start the Sulphur oil mix as well as the protective style challenge this October therfore I'm hopeful for better growth.

I won't be injesting any hair supplements which translates into better monitoring of the Sulphur.

There are 21 ladies participating in this year long challenge so expect tons of updates and pictures.

Reader Votes

At the end of the month, you the reader, will have the opportunity to choose one participant as winner. You'll see the length check pictures and the poll will be up throughout November to select the winner.

This is going to be so much fun!

The Wash Day

I washed the hair at the salon again as I mentioned. Being salon dependent can be useful if your …
