How To Use Aloe Vera On Relaxed Hair

Haven dealt with how I use aloe vera on natural hair, why not show you how you can use aloe vera on relaxed hair too. Do share these "How To" posts with friends and family to get them to maintain healthy hair. Apply on your edges. When you want to restore moisture around the edges, just apply the aloe vera on your edges at night. If you don't mind wet edges in the morning, you can do so. I realised my edges stay fresh looking with the aloe vera. I top up with the edges oil mix and call it a night. Cover with a satin cap to prevent staining your cloth. The beauty of this is that I notice an increase in the growth of the hair at the hairline too. Apply to your scalp and massage for a couple of minutes. I extend to the hair and cover with satin cap. Aloe vera will help soothe your itching scalp as well as promote growth. Apply to scalp after relaxer to soothe the scalp. This is the best treatment for scalp burns too. Apply daily for a week to restore the pH of your s

How To Treat Scab Hair

The solution to scab hair doesn't lie in deep conditioning daily; it's about keeping the moisture in the hair 24/7. How can you do this? Aloe vera, hibiscus leave in and rose water glycerin spritz sealed with cantu sheabutter gel oil. I began using aloe vera  early March and in a matter of 7 days, my hair was considerably hydrated.  At night, I massage fresh aloe vera gel on the hair then spray the hibiscus on the hair and apply a bit of Jbco oil mix. In the morning, I spritz with rose water mix, mix a bit of Mielle organics hair milk, Jbco mix and the gel oil and apply it to seal. The way I use these products vary on a daily basis but the key thing is that they are the products  that give me the result I want.  This has been my routine ever since I big chopped and that's what got rid of the dry hair. 4 Wash Day Tips For Relaxed Hair

There are a variety of things you can do  to enhance your wash day experience. Prepoo treatment is not overrated. I know some bloggers don't see the need but do what works for you. When I ceased doing the Prepoo, I into get the same moisturized hair. Use heat to deep condition. Unfortunately, I know getting a steam cap is a problem but do try to get one for your hair. It makes a huge difference . Air drying in sections helps stretch the hair and leave you with smooth hair too. I don't worry about too much shrinkage during the air drying. Use detangling products especially shampoos and leave in conditioners to reduce knots and tangles when manipulating the hair.

How To Prepare Your Hair For Harmattan

I have a post on the best protective styles for harmattan and 3 tips for harmattan. In today's post, I rather want to focus on how to prepare your hair for harmattan so you won't have any need to stress over your hair. These tips are what I also intend to do though some are applicable to those with longer hair than mine.  Baggying your ends at leat three times a week will provide the ends with moisture. My hair isn't long so I rather fold the ends into the pony to protect it. By December, I'll be using the baggying method too. You can also use green house effect to provide moisture for your hair. The  September 2016 challenge is green house effect so join it. I'll be wearing  cornrows beneath my wigs but will still make use of Green  House Effect for optimum moisture.  Get your moisturizing and sealing game on right  now ! I've discovered the Cantu sheabutter gel oil as a very moisturizing oil for my hair so I won't be dependent on the Cantu sheabu

Four After Braid Take Down Tips

After I took down the braid, I had to make sure the hair was in good shape after no moisture for weeks. I used coconut oil as prepoo treatment and washed with Sheamoisture African black soap shampoo and followed up with the Superfruit conditioner. I used Cantu sheabutter gel oil only for the hair to feel hard so I washed it out with the Cantu sheabutter Co wash. This brought to mine how to care for  the hair after braids so you don't lose length or cause breakage. Use coconut oil to aid with finger detangling. Using fingers and coconut oil will let the whole process go faster and with much better results.  Don't shampoo if you've not detangled. Putting  water in your hair will cause it to tangle more.  Use a wide tooth comb first to detangle before washing to remove shed hair too.  Deep conditioning after washing the  hair will restore both protein  and moisture so be sure to  use at least a bit if light protein.  These are the few tips that help me t

Wash Day featuring We Naturals hot oil treatment

I had to wash my hair but since I'd been getting questions about the We Naturals hot oil treatment, I decided to do a video of it. After the hot oil treatment, I washed with  Sheamoisture African black soap shampoo and deep conditioned with Cantu sheabutter deep treatment mask.  I used the Cantu sheabutter anti frizz foam leave in conditioner and set the hair on flex rods. That  result was really good as usual. This kind of styling makes it easy for me to wear my hair out during the  week. I got to wash the  hair when I can and apply oils to the strands regularly.

3 Deep Conditioning Mistakes To Avoid

After deep conditioning according to the directions on products, my hair has certainly gained it's softness back. It stays moisturized for longer periods too. In all this, I've learnt 3 mistakes that can occur with your deep conditioning process. 1. Not using the product as directed: That was my first mistake with deep conditioners. Most dcs take about 30 minuted to an hour to work if you use body hat but 15 minuted under a hooded dryer or steamer. I hardly went beyond 5 minutes with the deep conditioners and that was my downfall. Now that I can't cut my hair again,  I have to be diligent in keep the hair healthy. 2. Not using the right deep conditioner: Using a regular conditioner and leaving it on for even 20 hours doesn't make it deep conditioning. I've personally been against using eggs because it's unable to penetrate the hair. To benefit from deep conditioning,  you need to get a deep conditioner aka steaming cream. 3. Not deep conditioning often: The ladi

Do You Heat Your Conditioner?

The heating of conditioner is something I learnt from a hair blogger where you heat only the deep conditioner you'll be using to make it  warm for application. This heating isn't new to me; I used to  do it with queen helene cholesterol using warm water as directed. This time,  you rather put the conditioner in the warm water. After trying this with  the Cantu sheabutter for natural hair Deep Treatment Masque,  I just had to find a way to incorporate it in my regimen daily. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="680" caption="Sheamoisture products available in the shop"] [/caption] In addition  to speeding up the absorption of the deep conditioner,   I found that the deep conditioner had extra slip because of the added oils which were also heated in the process. These two benefits of heating deep conditioners  before application can save you time and money as well as make your wash days easier.

Scentless Hair Products

Ever since I fell ill,  my sense of smell has been  heightened, something I can't seem to understand. Usually, I'd apply a mild scented product just for the hair to smell good but lately,  fee absence of any scent is most welcomed. An example is the ors hairepair moisture cream that I still can't stand. I mean I used to think being pregnant back then was the reason for the dislike for the smell but now,  I'm definitely not pregnant. My nose just doesn't like the  scent though it's not unpleasant. When I pass my hands through the hair,  I'm glad I don't smell anything afterwards. I'm not sure if the sickness has anything to do with this change; I most certainly wouldn't want this to be permanent as I love my hair to smell good. Even my favourite cantu sheabutter lotion seems to put me off. I'll just ensure this and hope it's a temporal change.

Deep Conditioning for Harmattan Update

The first week of the deep conditioning for harmattan is over and I followed everything to a dot. Check out the first wash and the recent wash. What can I say? I'm glad I'm giving the hair the moisture it needs. I'm keeping an eye on moisture overload but at least most of my deep conditioners are balanced. The gelatine hair mask treatment was to provide the protein the hair needs. Gelatine is said to contain hydrolyzed protein which was the purpose for the mask. Overall, I look forward to more gelatine hair mask treatments.

Rhassoul Clay Treatment for Hair & Face

I've been up to a lot of stuff during the month of July though due to phone and internet challenges, I couldn't share with you all these things but here's an update about the rhassoul clay treatment I did a couple of days ago. During one of the days I felt happy and in the mood to experiment, I did a mud wash using Sheabutter Cottage Rhassoul Clay. In the video, I take you through a step by step process from mixing the clay to the application. I will be doing more of these clay treatments as time goes on.
