4 Ways To Moisturise Your Hair

Image
There are several options available for moisturizing and sealing your hair. You'll need to try them and find what works for you.  Method 1:Using your leave in conditioner (Especially if it is creamy or lotion). Apply to the hair and follow with an oil. Do this daily if you have to in order to keep the moisture in the hair.  Method 2: Using a hair moisturizer. If you are using Ors hairepair, S curl no drip moisturizer or the Hawaiian silky 14 in 1 moisturizer, you can spray it first and follow with the oil. Method 3: Use a very light leave in conditioner like the Creme of Nature Argan leave in conditioner  or hotfro leave in conditioner first, follow with your oil or butter and then follow with a creamy moisturizer like the Ors hairepair moisturizer or a styling creme. That's the L. O. C method.  Method 4: You'll use the light leave in conditioner or water, apply the Ors creamy moisturizer or hawaiian silky moisturizer and then your hair oil or butter. This is the L. C. O me

4 Wash Day Tips For Relaxed Hair

Image
There are a variety of things you can do  to enhance your wash day experience. Prepoo treatment is not overrated. I know some bloggers don't see the need but do what works for you. When I ceased doing the Prepoo, I into get the same moisturized hair. Use heat to deep condition. Unfortunately, I know getting a steam cap is a problem but do try to get one for your hair. It makes a huge difference . Air drying in sections helps stretch the hair and leave you with smooth hair too. I don't worry about too much shrinkage during the air drying. Use detangling products especially shampoos and leave in conditioners to reduce knots and tangles when manipulating the hair.

My Moisturizing and Sealing Routine for Harmattan (2017)

Image
It's just fair that this dry weather is met with serious moisturizing and sealing routine.  Moisturizing has to do with using a water based product and sealing is done with oils or butters. I follow the liquid, cream, oil routine (L.C.O) as I find that to be a better option during this harmattan weather. To effectively moisturize your hair, you definitely need to apply moisture first. Using oil first is like wearing your trousers before your underwear. You block out any moisture loss when you seal with oil that us why you need the water first before sealing.  For each month of 2017, my moisturizing and sealing will be planned for the month for effective routine. For January, I planned my hair routine ahead of time to reduce the amount of time spent on organizing my thoughts Lol. Spray the hair with rose water  Apply a bit of Mielle organics avocado hair milk Seal with my oil mix.   I do this at night because my morning schedule is whack! I try to sleep with a bonnet to main

3 Tips For Moisturizing and Sealing

Image
Because the weather is pretty much dry, moisturizing and sealing is essential at this time of the year.  Last night, I co washed and went to bed with the wet hair. This morning, my hair was dry and crunchy and couldn't understand why. I skipped leave in conditioner and applied dark and lovely amla legend  oil moisturizer and then the cantu sheabutter hair lotion and sealed with coconut oil. Now, my hair was crunchy prior to the products and it was a not damp after using the lotion so I couldn't style it. It took about 10 minutes for the products to soak in but my hair was so soft and moisturized. The water from co washing had hydrated the hair before the moisturizing. My hair feels very thick and smooth and as a result I've learnt three tips that will take your moiayrizong game to another level. Moisturize and seal as soon as you wake up to give your hair time to absorb the products.I intend using a shower cap to facilitate the absorption. The products will be absorbed befo

How To Prepare Your Hair For Harmattan

Image
I have a post on the best protective styles for harmattan and 3 tips for harmattan. In today's post, I rather want to focus on how to prepare your hair for harmattan so you won't have any need to stress over your hair. These tips are what I also intend to do though some are applicable to those with longer hair than mine.  Baggying your ends at leat three times a week will provide the ends with moisture. My hair isn't long so I rather fold the ends into the pony to protect it. By December, I'll be using the baggying method too. You can also use green house effect to provide moisture for your hair. The  September 2016 challenge is green house effect so join it. I'll be wearing  cornrows beneath my wigs but will still make use of Green  House Effect for optimum moisture.  Get your moisturizing and sealing game on right  now ! I've discovered the Cantu sheabutter gel oil as a very moisturizing oil for my hair so I won't be dependent on the Cantu sheabu

Wash Day featuring We Naturals hot oil treatment

Image
I had to wash my hair but since I'd been getting questions about the We Naturals hot oil treatment, I decided to do a video of it. After the hot oil treatment, I washed with  Sheamoisture African black soap shampoo and deep conditioned with Cantu sheabutter deep treatment mask.  I used the Cantu sheabutter anti frizz foam leave in conditioner and set the hair on flex rods. That  result was really good as usual. This kind of styling makes it easy for me to wear my hair out during the  week. I got to wash the  hair when I can and apply oils to the strands regularly.  [Youtube=https://youtu.be/tUdqtvk5o-c]

Scentless Hair Products

Image
Ever since I fell ill,  my sense of smell has been  heightened, something I can't seem to understand. Usually, I'd apply a mild scented product just for the hair to smell good but lately,  fee absence of any scent is most welcomed. An example is the ors hairepair moisture cream that I still can't stand. I mean I used to think being pregnant back then was the reason for the dislike for the smell but now,  I'm definitely not pregnant. My nose just doesn't like the  scent though it's not unpleasant. When I pass my hands through the hair,  I'm glad I don't smell anything afterwards. I'm not sure if the sickness has anything to do with this change; I most certainly wouldn't want this to be permanent as I love my hair to smell good. Even my favourite cantu sheabutter lotion seems to put me off. I'll just ensure this and hope it's a temporal change.
