Dark And Lovely Ultra-Cholesterol Conditioning Mask Review

Most often, I use a deep conditioner that needs to be left on for more than 15 minutes and requires heat to work. However, I needed an alternative deep conditioner that I can fall on when am tied up and won't require time and heat in order to work. I was browsing through the product arsenal of The Game shop when I came across the Dark and Lovely Ultra-cholesterol conditioning mask 500ml by Softsheen Carson and decided to purchase it.
Price: Ghs10.00

What the product says: Dark & Lovely Ultra Cholesterol Conditioning Mask is an intensive conditioning treatment specially formulated with Panthenol and Vitamin E derivative. This unique formula nourishes, moisturizes and helps protect against split ends while gently detangling dry, damaged hair.
Ingredients: Aqua/water, Cetearyl Alchohol, Paraffinum, Liquid/Mineral oil, PEG-40 hydrogenated Castor Oil, Cetrimonium Chloride, Polyquatemium-37, Phenoxyethanol, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Methylparaben, PPG-1 Trideceth-6, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate, CI 19140/Yellow 5, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, Cholesterol, CI 47005/Acid Yellow, Parfum/Fragrance.  (F.I.L.D277221/1)

My View: The first thing that stands out is the colour-yellow and a carrot like smell. It is thick but not too thick and creamy-I always prefer creamy products to watery ones. When I applied it to my hair the first time, I, immediately notice how easily it can be massaged into the hair, this hasn't changed. Honestly, when I decided to use it, I was apprehensive about how my hair will take it since I wasn't using heat. At the end of the recommended 7 minutes, I left with soft and smooth hair and without tangles. I don't know if the castor oil has any hand in how moisturized the hair felt! In my recent wash day, I heated it up and it turned frothy but it still blended well with the other deep conditioner. Anyway, I checked other reviews and on amazon, it was starred 4.5 out of 5, which is impressive for me. Will I stick to it? Yes, because it works for my hair. At least I know when am out of time, my hair won't suffer.

Right from the wash day, my attention has been on preventing moisture loss. This means from the shampoo process to the sealing process, each step involves maximizing moisture. I probably shampoo once every 2 weeks but I water rinse very often. This keeps the moisture levels up as well as keeping the hair less dirty.  I do well to sprit z the hair each morning before anything is done. With the new growth so thick, getting the hair damp is very crucial for moisture retention. I love length but moisture retention during this time of year is the key to a healthy hair. Another form of moisture retention technique I employ is ensuring that the deep conditioners and conditioners I use are moisture based. The Sheamoisture manuka honey conditioner is amazing at this and I really love.  The next thing I want to invest in i...
